On to Parry Sound and then Belleville

In Parry Sound, we had a tour of the town by a friend (Karin) who grew up in Parry Sound.  She had something to share almost at every corner.  She was in the process of moving so she graciously offered her old apartment (since she has it to the end of the month) for us to park and use the kitchen and washroom facilities while we were there.

One of the spots here we explored was the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame.  Karin's brother was also inducted into the hall of fame as a builder.  It was great to be there with her.

The famous goal

This was a mural on a corner store close to where we were staying

The snowbirds that night

Following the snowbirds we went to Don Cherry's for dinner.  Yummm!

That day the snowbirds were doing a show so we found it difficult to go anywhere by car so we went by foot and caught sight of the snowbirds.  Great show.  We finished our day at Don Cherry's.

The next day, we saw our cousins Pat and Kathy.  Great to see them and catch up.  This trip has been all about catching up with family friends.

Next stop is Belleville where we will see Aunt Beulah and more cousins.  It's been five years since we've been here.  Five years ago we were here to see cousin Jen and John being married.  This year, we met their two children - two new cousins.  We are so blessed.

We worshipped at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church this morning in Belleville.

Loved this tapestry leading to their hall.

Tomorrow we head out on the road again and we will be heading to the Lower Millstream, NB to visit more cousins.  It will take a couple of days to get through the rest of Ontario, Quebec, and then into NB.  It's been about a month of travelling so far but we are getting there.

It's Father's Day today and we are far away in distance from our kids and grandkids but close in heart and thought.

Until next time ...
