Beautiful PEI

We allowed ourselves 3 days to discover beautiful PEI.  As many of you may already know, that is not enough time.  We will definitely have to come back again.  We arrived in PEI in a downpour and it continued to rain all day and all night.  What do you do when its raining?  Pretty much the same as if it wasn't...go and explore anyway, put your rain gear on and have fun.  We went to Confederation Centre and were surprised to run into friends from Nanaimo.  Neither of us knew the other was here.  Kind of fun.  Then we decided to go see the Anne of Green Gables play that night since it was raining anyway.  If you haven't seen the play in Charlottetown, it is a must.  It is so well done.

Our Nanaimo friends in Charlottetown!

Having fun in the rain

The next day it dried up so we went looking for lighthouses and beaches.

The waves at Shaw's Beach.  Lots of sand dunes and waves.

The lighthouse at Covehead Bay.

We had lunch at North Rustico and found this eagle nest with an eaglet.  Pretty cool.

At North Rustico Harbour we found this lighthouse.

Then we made our way to Cavendish and since we saw the Anne play the night before we thought we should stop at the Anne of Green Gables house.

On our last day in PEI we saw two more lighthouse.  The first was at Point Prim which is the oldest lighthouse on PEI and the only round one made of bricks here.

On our way from Point Prim, there were lots of lupins along the roadside.  You can find these lupins along the roadside in PEI and NB.

Then we decided to back track a bit and go to Victoria By The Sea for one more lighthouse before calling it a day.

So many beautiful places here.

I wish we had more time here but we are off to Nova Scotia tomorrow.

Until next time ...
