Spruce Grove to Saskatoon

I knew that our visit to Spruce Grove would be a highlight of our trip ... meeting up with friends after so many years and there being there for the baptism of a grandchild ... so wonderful.  Another bonus was having her parents there from Nova Scotia.  With two RVs in their driveway (one from NS and ours from BC) was interesting.  I'm sure they are glad to have their driveway back.

We never know how our paths will cross or when we will meet again.  I think that is kind of the theme of this trip... meeting so many people we haven't seen in so long.  I have a friend in Victoria who reminds me its not about the destination but about the journey.  We remind ourselves especially of this when we take a wrong turn and find ourselves way off track.  This happened on our way to Saskatoon.  By the time we realized we were heading in the wrong direction we had to adapt our plans and head out on different highways.  You never know what new sights you are meant to see when that happens.  Here are a few sights of our adventure enroute.

And sometimes there are unexpected delays when you have to wait due to road construction.   This time we had to wait for our pilot vehicle to lead the way.

I thought this was a funny place for a truck to hang.

And we met some very large vehicles on the road.

By the end of the day though, we did end up at our destination, the Gordon Howe Campground in Saskatoon which is a really nice campground.  We decided to stay an extra day to visit with friends.

Imagine driving a bike powered by steam

Or a car powered by wind

Or converting straw to gas

Driving in style

 First Nations exhibit

Sod House

Until next time ...
